At Wallington Primary Academy, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting
the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We do this by:

• Practising safer recruitment by checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children.
• Equip the children with the skills needed to keep themselves safe.
• Establish a safe environment in which children can learn and develop in confidence and independence.
• Work within the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy alongside Government documentation and Guidance.

 

The Child Protection Policy sets out clear procedures which all staff are aware of. Parents and carers are able to read the policy by following the link above. We also have an Emotional Health and Well-Being Policy which explores support for positive mental health of staff and pupils.

 

Our priority is always about safeguarding the child and there may be times that we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when we are worried about a child’s welfare. It is usual practice for us to discuss the concerns with parents/carers unless advised otherwise as we always favor working in partnership with families
